In June 2017 we received a note from the Upper Monroe Neighborhood association and ABC Streets Association on behalf of the Coalition to Save Cobb’s Hill Park. They were asking our support in opposing the Rochester Management Inc. proposal to build new apartments at Cobbs Hill Park, near Lake Riley. Their position statement is below.
The original proposal was opposed by the community and the mayor asked RMI to revise the proposal.
The revised proposal was submitted in the spring of 2017.
The proposal is being reviewed by City Hall and must ultimately be approved by City Council. There have been several media reports and postings on this, but nothing since June 2017.
Plans are posted on the city web site’s projects page.
A recent D&C article asked city council candidates where they stood on the Cobb’s Hill Village project. See their answers here.
So what do you think? Should the Pocket support building residential housing in Cobb’s Hill park, or should we join the Upper Monroe Neighbors in opposing this proposal?
